What is cheap, we need a budget to work with.
Also, do you need everything. Receiver, Speakers, Sub, Wire & Interconnects, DVD player, etc... Is B-stock, or used equipment an option? Or it must be new.
What size room is the equipment going into, is there a WAF?

If you already have a 5.1 setup, I am assuming that you have 5 speakers and a sub. Also you have 2 dvd players and 1 of those is a combo DVD/VCR (recorder). And since this is working, I assume you have a receiver.

Sorry but it seems as though your english is hard to follow. Also you have this posted in cd/dvd area.

Are you asking about getting a third dvd player? I am guessing this is not the case.

From what little I can gather it sounds like you have a receiver that only does 5.1 And you would like to know if getting a 6.1 receiver is worth the upgrade.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Or to make this easier what components are you asking advice on getting.
1. Receiver that supports 6.1 or 7.1
2. Speakers (Or 1 extra speaker for the 6th channel)
3. A dvd player that supports Dolby Digital and DTS
4. Or is there something else

thanks for reply/yes i have 5 speakers with a sub woofer/can i upgrade to a 6.1 or do i have to buy a complete new kit?if yes will it be worth it?

If you have material that is 6.1 then yes by all means it is worth it. DTS-ES
Do you have a receiver that can do 6.1?

If not, then the only things you will need is 1 extra speaker and a receiver that can do 6.1 or even better 7.1

For the rear speaker (6th channel) it is recommended that you would get the same speaker as your center speaker.

I am not sure how much 200-300 pounds is in U.S.Dollars (roughly 500.00 U.S.)

Or maybe a Yamaha RX-V657 or better a HTR-5860 even better a 5790

Go to a local audio shop and listen to 6.1 for yourself. I upgraded to 6.1, and although it is better, it is not dramatically better than 5.1. Also, there are not that many 6.1 source materials, and that might make it even less worthwhile, depending on whether you like what is available or not, and whether you like synthetically adding rear channels (à la Dolby Pro Logic IIx).

Go 7.1 or stay 5.1

Because as noted, there is not much 6.1 source material.

For 7.1, you can get the Dolby ProLogic IIx which will expand digital 5.1 content to 7.1 channels. (OK, also to 6.1 if you want, but as an ex-speaker engineer I'd say 4 surrounds can envelop you much better than 2)

Then again, if you are listening to surround movies more than surround audio, 5.1 may be just fine, since the rears are mostly effects. It's music that 5.1 channels is rather inadequate for.
