Bear with me guys....

My room is pretty tiny for a 7.1 system. Since the 6th and 7th channel are matrixed Im not really missing out on anything by going with 6.1 am I?

I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. 7.1 is the same as 6.1 but more for large areas that are spread out and need two rear centers?

Also how would I hook up a 6.1 system? All the 7.1 recievers have a left and right rear surround so how would you hook up just three surrounds instead of 4?

Go for a quality 5.1 setup at first and then go from there, to many people go for quantity over quality.

You would hook up the center surround to the rear suround left, if i recall correctly. If you can, try to fit a 6.1 setup in your room.
