For some reason I can't get my Denon 3805 Receiver to play my rear center speaker.

I have three speakers up-front. (front left, front center, front right)
I have three speakers in the back. (back right, back center, back left)
So basically it's a 6.1 surround sound. When I test tone the speakers you can barely hear the center speaker in the back. I think I have it connected to surround back left. I used the microphone and everything. Does anybody know why the rear center speaker doesn't give off a lot of sound? And what do I do to fix it!

Thanks
C.T.

Assuming you have everything connected properly and there are no shorts or breaks in the wire, then its probably just the fact that the speaker is a good ways away from your listening position.

The test tones are there for you to calibrate the level of each speaker equally. You really need to use an SPL meter to do the calibration right, but as a first approximation you can just do it by ear.

Start the test tones and as they cycle through the channels, adjust the level of each channel so that they all sound about the same. Being far away from you, the rear speaker's level may have to be adjusted UP. Most receiver's have all of the channel level trims set to 0 out of the box.

Search the site or even google for instructions on proper calibration if you've never done it before and aren't sure on how to proceed. The question comes up all the time.

I know your not using a Yamaha so you will want to check your manual. But I think Yamaha say's if your going to use one spaker connect it to the surround back right.
