If you can be patient keep checking sites like www.dealnews.com

I check it daily when I am looking for electronics. My last score was a 12.1MP Kodak Camera for $106 shipped. Also picked up an 8GB SDHC Class Six SanDisk card for $15 after rebate from dealnews.

note :

i have looked at a lot of tv's at the stores. they always look smaller than they do at home, YMMV.

I shopped for a new TV for x-mas (and my girlfriend bought it for me :D). The budget for the TV was $500-$700. I looked at a lot of lower end TV's. I ended up getting a 37 inch Insignia 1080p LCD, which is a Best Buy house brand (rebranded LG I think). Having owned it for several months now, I'm quite happy with it. My only complaint with it is that the built in speakers are pretty bad, but that seems to be the case with most budget model TV's. For a bedroom TV they might be ok. I would suggest you look at Insignia, Vizio and Samsung. You get a lot of TV for your money with those brands. If you have a Sam's Club or Costco near you, they usually have good prices on TV's. My local Sam's club was selling Westinghouse and GE TV's for pretty cheap last holiday season, they seemed to get good reviews as well.

I don't think you will get a 37 inch under your budget (unless you go refurb/open box)., but you can get a 32 with some cash left over for some speakers for it :D

Oh yeah, the remote response time is a tad slow too, not sure how other brands are on the cheap models, something else to look for when trying them out.
