I agree. But that is different than saying:
"And I wouldn't listen to half of the BullSh!t your being told on AVS about the x-cs's."
What is different about what I said. Half the guys are giving bad advice. I made my statement, and I'm sticking to it. Ha Ha :D:cool:

And until I hear that Sean from AV123 disagrees with my recommendation. I'm still saying that the x-cs's will be fine in your room.

I understand you think it is bad advice, but why? Is it just a difference in opinion?

Sean will like you because you are helping him sell speakers. :)

It has nothing to do with me helping him sell speakers. I think Sean, and Mark have integrity and would rather help someone with the right knowledge then just make one speaker sale.

Mazer is right...I totally agree. Sean and Mark are awesome and will do what they can to help, even if it is not in favor of there speakers.

Here is the thread I'm talking about Silversurfer.

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=893580

I don't agree that the sensitivity of the x-cs's isn't good enough for them to play loud in his room.

What is loud anyway. It's a personal thing. But I bet they will hit over 90DB's at the listening area without breaking a sweat.

One post by "deneb"? craig john said to ask Sean.

And to that you called all the post "half BS"?

OK...not to derail, but it does not seem right to degrade this thread. If you had issue, take it up over there.

Who is degrading this thread? How about post 14,15, and 16? Not just one post from one poster.

If this thread has been degraded I think IMO you need to look in the mirror.

Now the question is are you going to add anything positive to this thread for the OP.

14 is a smart post. MTM's for surrounds are not the smartest thing to do.

15 seems to be a suggestion on another speaker to look at.

16 Another person that does not think they will be loud enough and another suggestion.

I know you think they will be loud enough. You did not reply to any of those guys, then call them BS in a different forum. Come 'on.

Anyways, I didn't mean to get into an arguement about this. I just hate seeing this forum go bad.

Understood, but that was what I was getting at as well.

No more on the subject from me.

Just to make you feel good I posted my thoughts on "loud" over there.

But before you call me out over here, just know that I have been posting with the OP not only on this, but other forums, and in PM's also. I just happened to make that statement here while PMing the OP.

AVS is a great forum for research but honest questions regarding certain companies are usually met with rabid Fan-boi-ism that is very prevalent over there.

I just PM's Mark L. Schifter, and linked that thread to get his thoughts, and opinion.

i'm pretty much set on these speakers, from all the opinions of people using similar and even lesser receivers than mine, people love these speakers, so i'm pretty much sold on them

i really think alot of the people on the avs forum just cant get what i'm asking for, they only can recomend high end components, while the best audio setup i've ever had before this one is a 500$ package from best buy lol
The issue isn't the speakers on their own. The issues are the 1. HUGE volume of the room 2. GREAT distance from speakers. Either one calls for a step up in components if you like it loud at all. My honest opinion.

I've read thru that AVS thread. I don't recall anything "high-end". Just some encouragement to spend more. They were trying to help you still find value, but at an increased price point, thats all. Particularly hi-efficiency speakers such as Cerwin Vega or Klipsch. No Dynaudio, McIntosh, or Krell in any case.

But its certainly possible you might be happy with your final decisions. You just might not be aware of the lack of midbass (let alone bass). I think when you first might think to yourself in the future "Hey maybe those guys were right..." is when it starts distorting rather quickly when turning it up for the guests.
