5 Channel 4 Ohm Amp/AV Receiver Solution

I am looking for an inexpensive solution to my 5.1 system! I am using Thiels, and I really love the sound. The only other speaker on the market that comes close is the B&W systems. However, I feel that the used price on many Thiel speakers is extremely low, and when compaired with other used speakers of the same price range I cant find anything that suits my ears.

Anyways, enough of my personal preference. I have spent allot of time working on developing my system. I have a pair of cs.5's for the rear channels and going to buy a pair of 3.5's for the front. I havent decided on any frontchannel yet (any recommendations). I buy used speakers, but try to buy new electronics.

Problem is, that a few years ago, all Receivers and Amps seemed to drop 4 Ohm support. I blame the devils brother, BOSE!

Anyways...

I need a 5 channel Amp and or Receiver for under or around $1500. NAD makes 4 Ohm Receivers, but I am afraid of buying a product that will grow out of date. I would prefer to buy an amp and pre-amp seperate.

I am not afraid of legacy equipment, if the price is right, and if it is repairable. My father has spent most of his early life working and building amplifiers for audio systems. The issue I have is what else is out there? What are peoples opinions? and what is a good solution?

Bump,

I am told that the 3.5's are a very power hungry speaker. Multiple stores told me that the amps for these speakers must be REALLY rock solid. If I am going to buy this product I would like to know if their is any options out for under $1K.

I would also like to know if their are any amazing Home Audio Amps for 600 series B&W's. I may end up selling my Thiel CS.5's and buying an entire brand new B&W system, with a good amp.

Thanks
Mike
