5.1 to 6.1

<font color='#000000'>Can anyone tell me if my current 5.1 receiver can be used with a SACD/DVD Audio player. &nbsp;How do I get the sixth channel if my amp only supports 5 plus the subwoofer? &nbsp;I was thinking I could just run the sixth channel through another amplifier but didn't know if that would work for sure.
