Using Denon AVR-3312CI and have wires installed for 5.1. Any suggestions on speakers and sub to use? Looking to spend under a 1000 bucks, but if you find something for a little more, I'll take a look. Denon powers 125W.

Speakers must be in wall, any size. The room is pretty small (120 inches by 200 inches). For home theater use and occasional music.

Thanks for all recommendations!

All in wall, even the sub?
What are your room dimensions"
This is a retrofit? so the walls are already up, this makes it hard to but speaker box versions of built ins, so you will need something easy to install.
Your budget is pretty tight for built ins, If I ony had the options of built ins, I would make a recessed shelf in the wall and dry wall it all in so if there were no speakers in it, it would just look like a built in shelf, then you can slide any bookshelf into it...

But anyway, Im thinking... this is the cheapest I would go...

Polk $750, this is a good deal on 265rt's... I would use them for l r
Polk Audio 265 RT in Wall Speaker 265RT New 747192120306 | eBay here is the center http://www.ebay.com/itm/POLK-255C-RT-VANISHING-RT-SER-IN-WALL-2WAY-CENTER-CHANNEL-5-25-BRAND-NEW-/251173074835?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item3a7b14f793

$120 surrounds - Newegg.com - Polk Audio RC55i White 5.5" two-way rectangular in-wall loudspeaker Pair
but these will match the 265rt better but cost a lot more, and I think your remainder of budget should go to sub... http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-2-way-In-wall-Speakers/dp/B004L9DGDE/ref=sr_1_82?ie=UTF8&qid=1351082576&sr=8-82&keywords=in+wall+speakers

then save up for a better sub, but if you want one rite away grab one of these.. Dayton Audio SUB-1200 12" 120 Watt Powered Subwoofer 300-629 Normally I would tell someone dont skimp on the sub, but with built ins if you are going to leave something to upgrade later, should be the easiest thing to change.... the 265rt's actually sound pretty good and that is a good price, the cheapest I ever seen them was $350 on newegg, but lately amazon and ebay have had them for $250...

Thanks for all of your help.

Standard rectangle room (small): 9' 8" x 11' 4"

TV is on 9' 8" wall (couch on opposite end).

House has been fully renovated so the walls are brand new, no holes, just speaker wire in the wall. I suppose I could go with an on wall speaker (if a case could be made that they would be THAT much better than any of the in-walls available).

Powered sub would be on the floor (not in wall).

Given that information, would you still keep your recommendations?

I think I would prefer in wall to onwall since the onwalls I have heard havent been super impressive and tend to be very costly... The Polkks sound good as an entire unit, the front right left and center is where you want to focus your budget since the surrounds are just effect speakers... then the sub, I would go with the HSU research VTF2, but that will put you above budget a couple hundred bucks..

I'd contact Hsu Research and see if you can get a deal on an in-wall version of one of their packages. I've listened to the bookshelf version of the speaker and while I'm not a horn guy they were pretty good for the money. The STF-2 in the linked package is plenty of sub for a 1000cuft room as long as you can close door and seal it off from the rest of the house, but if you can swing the VTF-2 package and tune it low it would really rock at the cost of more money and a larger footprint.

Yes, I would stretch the budget for the Boston Acoustics
Newegg.com - Boston Acoustics HSI275 Speaker In-Wall, 6.5inch 2way Each

The HSU STF-2 sub, will be fine for that room.

Not for the faint of heart - however, if your room was bigger
the Boston VRi speakers

For a tight budget - HTD, and they will sell a single for the center channel
