5.1 help

I have a 20x20 ft room with 10ft ceiling. Budget of $1000 or maybe more for speakers. I have a Yamaha 2500. What would be the best choice for speakers and accompanying sub? Is the Infinity Modulus worth a look or KEF KHT5005? Some threads suggested other speakers I am not familiar with but then I am not up on the latest, greatest. Appreciate the help. Thanks

With a room that size I would not recommend the Infinity Modulus. As sold, the crossover inductors in these units saturate pretty quickly as you put the power to them. The Modulus you see in some of my articles have completely upgraded crossovers which I built along with the system's designer when I was at Infinity.

You may be hard pressed to find a 5.1 surround system at ~$1000 for a room your size that will play suffciently loud (with low distortion) to be satisfactory. I would recommend 5.25" two-ways as a minimum for the satellites and I'm a firm believer in double subs.
