I have a bit of a strange request.
I'm running an older Sony receiver (Sony STR-DB940:
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/strdb940.pdf) and would like to play through 5 speakers plus a sub in stereo. I realize this is wrong, as the soundstage sound be directional, but the idea is to fill a fairly large room with a circle of sound, as the current setup leaves something to be desired while standing in the far end of the room from the speakers with a large group of people. The setup would be much like a 5.1 theater setup, 'surrounds' in the back plus three speakers up front and a sub stashed somewhere. However, the surrounds will be large enough to fill in considerable sound. 4.1 is easy enough, as it has an 'A' and 'B' for mains that can be played simultaneously. If the center is sitting elevated, it will help project sound across the room.
How do I achieve this?
