4K Blu Ray VS Blue Ray Disc - On Sound

Hello, again
i posted this title before , but Not quite understand some of you on the reply , but i just don't want to spend too much on a older movie , that cost nearly $10 or less on a blu ray disc and the 4k version cost $30 or more because it's in the 4k format , Sound is the main - important thing for me. I recently got the Yamaha RX A8A Receiver , with a Panasonic 4k Player, pair with Kef speakers + Atoms enabled speakers on my setup. My concern is if a Blu Ray version with Dolby Atoms support - would it sound the same as the 4k Version ???
Also what is the best place to buy 4k disc - online , that ships to Canada. Thank you

If it is the same actual Atmos mix it wouldn't be any different (and why would they remix the Atmos unless there was an issue with the first one? is my line of thinking, it's not like going from dvd lossy to bluray lossless). Hard to know what the provenance is, tho, they don't exactly spell that stuff out.

Afaik, the bitrates are the same for the soundtracks. Meaning an Atmos track from a BD will sound the same on a 4K disk. All the imaging and panning will also be the same. The only difference should be the video content.

Iirc, the last time you asked we ended up carrying on about neutered bass on some movies. For some reason, dvd releases that were transferred to BD had much of the bass content cut off. Essentially the really deep stuff. There’s still boom, but no depth. Very disheartening for people with subs capable of playing bass much deeper than the newer tracks allowed. The 4K titles I have sound the same as the BD thankfully.

I just wish 4k disc gets more cheaper and a better packaging on the discs , because i experienced some titles like the Toy Story 4 , the 4k disc was stacked on top of other disc and somehow had a skip on the movie while playing and same as the Movie Black Hawk Down 4k version - stacked and somehow scratched the disc and on around 7 mins in the movie ,it stalls , everytime. so the manufacture need a better work , on the disc cover and have a divider tray for each disc. I am trying to get every new movies that i wanted , on 4k format for my collection, but if price is very different , older movies so cheap on blue ray , is hard to skip , then go for the 4k

Yeah. 4K disks are really expensive. Unnecessarily so imo. Packaging is weird too, as is trying to identify which disk you actually want to use.
I assume you have eBay up there? That’s a great source for used movies. Pawn shops too. I just got blade runner 2049 for $3.50 at one of our local ones. It has a WICKED soundtrack, and Atmos is great on it. If you don’t have to buy new, don’t. I’m also a fan of hard disks, but streaming is really improving. I just got an Apple TV 4K. So far everything sounds pretty damn good, and “spacial music”(which is Atmos)has been very satisfying.

oh, you have the apple tv 4k , do you need to pay subscription fees on it ?? cz i also get the Amazon Firestick 4k ,when i'm not using the 4k disc player , plus i have Netflix , Primevideo , and Disney + ,so ..yeah can't catch up all the videos and yes i heard that Apple TV has awesome music that uses Atmos surround sound and yes i also got the 2049 bladerunner , because i heard it has great atmos surround sound , for this title , but to me ( Power Rangers the movie 4k ) has the better sound and Godzilla VS Kong 4k
,anyway what is the latest 4k movie , you recently got , i pre ordered the 007 and Michael Myers Halloween Kills
