I thought the story for Legacy was pretty average too, but I enjoyed it as much as Ares. That said, I threw in Legacy 4K last night and ended up watching the whole thing lol. It looked and sounded better than ever.

Watched The Killer 4K in DTS HD MONO :p It sounds surprisingly good, as long as you are adequately proximate to the center. I love this film. It is a cheesy shoot-em up drama. Lots of never running out of ammo shooting sequences, some interesting twists. It was fun back in the day and though it is so cheesy, it still manages to be entertaining. Video is somewhat improved, but shows that it was not a high quality original and is pretty grainy and muted.

I attempted to watch the new "The Running Man 2026" 4K. But I fell asleep after about 30 minutes, so I didn't watch the rest of it. Will try to watch it again sometime. :D

I thought the first 30 minutes kind of sucked. So I don't have any expectations for the rest of the movie, though. :D

Heard not great things about it, which is why we skipped it in the theater.

I made a 2nd attempt. Watched another 30 minutes of what I thought was crap. So I gave up on this movie. Will pretend this movie was never made.

Another failed remake.

Avatar Fire & Ash looks to cross $1 billion at box office.

Funny how some people on YouTube and internet actually said it would be a “flop”. :D

And I almost believed that it was possible too since I figured people would be tired of this franchise by now. :D

Good or bad (like the Avengers movies that all made over $1 billion), Cameron sure knows how to make box office success.

Funny thing is majority of the box office is international where the studios don't earn that much (25-40% depending on country). Especially from China (25%). It's just going to hit $300m here in the states. Avatar 2 domestic was $688m. Are people rushing back to see it 2-3 more times like they did with Avatar 2 and Avatar? I don't think it's happening as much with this 3rd one. I think majority saw it and will wait until it drops on Disney+ or comes out on physical media/streaming. With the budget of this movie hitting $400m+ another $100m+ in marketing. This movie would need to pull in around $1.5-$1.7b just to break even. Cameron says he would like to do two more. Cameron said, if a 4th one gets made it will be 5 years from now. What if those movies cost more than $400m each? That's a ton of money to be put down for one movie with the hopes they make close to $2B to try and earn everything back and possibly make a small profit. Decisions, decisions....

Zootopia 2 is earning over 70% of its box office internationally. Mostly China. Movie studios get around 25% of box office from China's market. Currently, Zootopia 2 has hit $1.13B internationally while only hitting roughly $350m here domestic. I don't think $350m is anything to scoff at, but is that good or bad for a Pixar movie? The previous Pixar movie Inside Out 2 grossed roughly $650m domestically. Incredibles 2 grossed $608m and Finding Dory even grossed $486m domestically. I won't count Zootopia 2 out just yet. It might have some staying power and hit over Finder Dory's domestic numbers. We shall see. :)

Making $1b doesn't mean it is a good movie. It means people will go see it. Fast and the Furious movies made a lot of money too, but they all sucked. There's an audience and they know it, that is why he keeps making them.

We saw Zootopia 2 last week in the theater. It was excellent, maybe better than the first one.

Some good point there.

I was assuming international box office also meant 50% profit like in USA.

And why does it cost $300-400 million to make an Avatar movie? The CGI costs that much?

I am sure Happy that 4K Netflix, Paramount+, and Disney+, have DOLBY VISION w Dolby Atmos, for many of the current and older movies. My TCL mini LED TV, never looked so good!

I just watched 2 Avatar movies in 4K, with Dolby Vision/Atmos. I have several other movies in Dolby Vision + Atmos, currently book marked on the apps.

I watched Dunkirk (4K BD) last night. One nitpick was the special effects. Good but not perfect.

For comparison I played Lawrence of Arabia, the 4K Steel Book 60th Anniversary disc tonight. This was the first time I played it on my LG C4.

The video quality is really quite amazing. Special effects can’t match real people on real horses filmed in a real desert.

And that’s my huge opinion

Flop can be relative, no? ;)
