I'm looking for a 40 - 42" LCD for my office, it will be strictly dedicated to my camera system.... so I don't really need the greatest feature set, just PC input...

Not sure I want to head into the likes of vizio... there are some good ones at Costco - just checkin if anyone saw something on a closeout type thing...
$500 - 600 range

Thats an awesome screen, in fact I have my original 42" 7UK plasma in that same office, but I was looking for the weight savings of LCD. and being for cameras I'm still shooting for a LCD....

Can't believe that price, thinking back what I paid for my 7UK back in the day...

Yeah, that price is insane... will it keep going lower? I've heard that 720p prices are gonna seriously drop toward the holidays.

thanks bandphan,

Costco has a 42" something or another for $499 as well, still looking as I'm in no big hurry...

Warp, this is for surveillance? If so, this thing is going to be on all the time, yes?

I like Costco because of the extra warranty (isn't it 2yr standard for them)? If you sign up for the Costco Amex, then you now get a 3rd year for free. This is something worth considering, even at say a 10% premium, because entry level displays seem to have been wrought with cheapie power supplies. Therefore, with a cheapie power supply in a commercial area (that's where it will be right?), I would highly consider a UPS as well, particularly if you had multiple uses for the UPS like your computer. I do understand that otherwise it seems strange to pay that much more for a UPS to couple to a cheap display.

I have friends that are restaurant employees, GM, etc, and this is what I typically advise. One store has had multiple displays go out (high energy fluctuations coupled to Vizio power supplies), and I told him if his UPS saves just one display, you already paid off the UPS and then some, two displays, and it's a lot of money in the pocket.
