I just moved in to a place that came with a pre-wired system for 4 speakers and sub. The center channel just sits on top of my TV. The problem is the wires for the speakers and coax for the subwoofer all come out of a single gang box. If it were a double gang box it wouldn't be a problem. But I can't seem to find a wall plate that has 4 pairs of binding posts and one coax connection. I'm sure it isn't that common, but I thought someone on here might have seen one.

I tried looking at the snap-in wall plates, but the most I've seen are 6 port ones.

Anybody have any ideas?

Your best bet is to take out the single gang junction box and make the hole large enough for a double gang retro ring. I've never seen a plate with 8 inserts but with a double gang box you could probably use a plate with 6 binding posts on one side and a combination two binding posts + coax on the other side.

I'm with MDS on this one. 9 cables coming out of 1 box isn't good, that's why they don't make plates like that. I'd put a double gang in and use a 4-port insert in one and a 6-port insert in the other, and just put a blank insert into the extra port.

Either that or it might be easier to add another box in the wall rather than ripping out the one that's in there. Either way, it's the same setup with regards to the plates you use.
