Hey everyone,
I’ve previously shared here about Ambiophonics, crosstalk cancellation, and 3D audio. After noticing some XTC plugins priced at nearly $1000, I developed a free 64-bit VST3 plugin called CTXMatrix.

It has been tested by Archimago and other users with premium plugins, yielding positive results. Download and try it yourself—it delivers truly immersive 3D audio.

You have to calibrate yourself so this is to test how good your ears and system are. The comprehensive guide is here.

Thanks for reading.

Crosstalk only an issue with stereo. So it address the front two speakers and can be included in your multichannel setup. So far the active users trying out this are uBACCH and BACCH4Mac.

So primarily for "upmixing" 2ch audio? Stereo can be more than 2.0 in any case.

Crosstalk cancellation is not upmix. It is about minimizing or isolating the interaural crosstalk. It is the same 3D audio or binaural rendition like placing a barrier between the speaker to your head. it is appears 3D because once you minimize the errors that’s what the real sound should be. it is like headphones listening but with binaural effect.

What level of crosstalk is necessary for such an event? Headphone listening was never realistic IMHO.

What exactly are these for ? Is it similar to simulation of surrounds when running a system? Or 3D no Atmos ?

The guide is comprehensive. You can try with your PC and the move to your main system. Or you can read BACCH backed by Princeton University to understand them or the Ambiophonics papers.
