3805 Auto Input problem

I have the input set to "Auto Input" but it's not automatically reading the correct format when I put a 5.1 surround DVD or DTS 5.1. It seems like it's defaulting to the PLIIx music mode which I used last. This has happened before but I always got it back to where it "read" the correct format.
I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Thanks,
Okinawan

I'm not sure where, but in the manual, it shows you how to determine the default setting for a particular component. The 3805 has a computer memory chip that could be referring back to an original setting. Try resetting the system to default, and using the manual to recognize the dvd player as auto. Are you running everything to the receiver, then from the receiver to the tv?

Buckeyefan 1,

Thanks for the reply. I found what the problem was. It's not the 3805 but the DVD player! I checked the settings and they were not right. I have a sony DVD player that's connected to the 3805 through digital coax and 5.1 analog for SACD's. Whatever I did, it changed the settings on the DVD to L/R analog output and the DTS/Dolby when I went back from EXT IN back to standard PLII mode. It doesn't make much sense to me but everything seems to be working now.

Thanks,
Okinawan
