Hey all,
I'm a total newbie and I need ya'lls advice. I did research for a hd TV
and went with a nice 34" crt, but like a newbie I didn't think about the depth, and we couldn't fit it in the entertainment center ,so I had to have the delivery guys take it back :(

I had to have a TV for this weekend so I went back to Circuit City and let the sales guy talk me into a 32" Polaroid LCD for about the same price $1200 plus some change. I have played a few movies and the picture
is flawless, but regular cable isn't that great...I don't have hd cable yet
but I will soon. What scares me is there is very little info out there about
this TV and what there is, it's rated it as just okay.

Does anyone have any info on Polaroid lcd's ?
It would be a shame to return it, it's a good looking TV with
a good picture.. I just don't want to get stuck with a lemon

The model number is
FLM-3201

Here is a link to see it at Circuit City:

Thanks for any info :)

Nah, the tv is fine. Any flat screen LCD will have a grainy picture with astandard definition signal. Once you upgrade to high def, it will be better than dvd. Check into upgrading your cable to a high def box for the family room. It's only a few bucks more to rent the box, and the signal is amazing on hd feeds. If the signal is so bad you can't stand it, turn down the sharpness, contrast, and hue, and from a distance, it should look similar to your old crt.

How is the polaroid 32 LCD?

I recently looked at the polaroid 32" LCD at circuit city and the picture looked pretty darn good! I'm thinking about getting one... Does anyone own one? How is it working out?

Some LCD TVs are very slow in terms of the pixel refresh rate. Some have poor options for tweaking brightness/contrast and color. Others have very poor deinterlacing which results in almost no correction of jaggies, etc...

And then there are LCD TVs that do fantasticly - but those issues above are the ones I look at to quickly determine if an LCD TV is acceptable or in the ballpark.

With that said I haven't seen Polaroid's LCD TV and I don't know who OEMs their products. Perhaps they will contact us for a review.
