A while back I started a post about why there were no 32" 1080P sets. Well, this one's confirming their existence. I noticed while browsing Circuit City that Sharp has one. I guess they're the first. I thought when one finally came out it would be 2 grand or more, but this one's about $1400. This has got to stir things up again among the big three. I'm probably going to get this set, although someone mentioned something about banding problems? I also noticed there are no computer inputs on the set(but there are 2 HDMI). Can I get around this and get the audio/video from my computer into it easily enough?

Mango,
DVI is common on computers and is compatable with HDMI with the right cable. My 32" LCD also has a VGA port for input from a computer. I think that there are not many 1080P TVs in the 32" size because you would have to be pretty close to the set to take advantage of the increased resolution.

Take a look at the options in your price range because you could easily get a 42" LCD with 768p resolution. I went with an entry level Sceptre 32" LCD for $600. Great picture from my Oppo DVD player via HDMI.

You pretty much have to be sitting 5' or closer from a 32" 1080p display to see an improvement in image quality compared to 768p.

Thanks jc, since there are two HDMI inputs on this set, I guess I could convert the DVI out on my video card to HDMI, and just input the audio separately from the sound card outputs to whichever audio inputs on the TV. You're right that there aren't many 32" 1080P sets. This is the only one as far as I know. Unfortunately, my small apartment won't support a larger size TV. It just won't fit into the space I have and still leave room for speakers and components.
BMX, I will be sitting about that close to it! I wish I wasn't. Another thing is, since this display will be used as a computer monitor at times, I think it will benefit from the increased resolution, though I may be wrong about that.
