what problems will I have if left channel has to be horizontal rather than vertical due to placement difficulties? I know dispersion will change - just don't know how much. same speaker across front. Thanks in advance

You will most likely lose stereo image doing that, at least some of it. Not a best option to do. What kind of speakers you have? And what kind of place you have to work with?

It will compromise the sound but probably not enough to prevent you from enjoying the movies. Is there some reason you can't put the right speaker on its side as well?

primus 163's, shelving awkward left side shorter than right at listening level. Thanks for input, trying to avoid getting another unit plus waf.

Could you consider using wall mounts for the speakers?
