Hey guys, I am thinking of getting some Polk R15's later for using as a center instead of one center that cost twice as much and has one tweeter instead of 2... leaving the 2 centers canceling out each other issue....

Anyways, I know I have to run them in series, instead of parallel because my receiver

which delivers 65watts a channel 5.1.. 8 ohm...

If I do run them in series, 2x8ohm speakers, this I am assuming from researching, will create a 16ohm load for my receiver.

Is this safe or not to use for my Onkyo 65watts a channelx5 for a center that is 16ohm?

I mean, isn't the higher the ohm, the easier it is for the receiver to drive?

thanks.

Easier load to drive yes, but cuts the power delivered in half. You'll just have to bump the center channel level up more that's all.
