2ch shelf system recomendations..

i am looking to get my girlfriend a good shelf system... anyhow we listen to alot of jazz so i need something that has a very good frequency range...

it would also be nice to have connectivity for a zune and sacd/dvda playback would be awesome....

i have looked at a few differant modles...
1. denon D-M33S
2. Cambridge SoundWorks SoundWorks Radio CD 740
3. something by onkyo...

i really like the features and price point of the cambridge soundworks radio, but i am unclear if it has connectivity for mp3 players....

anyhow if you guys could give me some tips and suggestions....

Axiom m3 and you will be borrowing them. Connect to a little recv'r and source player. You/she will be more than pleased for a shelf system. Heck, add a sub and you would have a sweet 2ch monitor setup.

What is your budget, and are you tied to a little shelf system?

Also I don't think you should expect to find SACD/DVDA playback in many of those options. You should however be able to find something which incorporates some method of connecting an mp3 player (be it headphone adapter to RCA connections or a mini-jack input).

i wouldnt say that i have a budget... dont get my wrong, price does play an important roll... i dont want to drop a bunch of money and have a better shelf system at my GFs then i got at my own place.. hahah seriously id like to be at or under $500 i would say thats very generous for a small apartment like hers...

i was actually at best buy tonight killing time and i say a nice shelf system by LG for 199... that might be perfect for her... it will play dvds but not sacds..

i should break down and buy an outlaw reciever and set my onkyo up at her place.. hahaha

It depends on what she wants, Sound quality, aesthetics, or easy to use.

Some of the nicest ones I've heard and seen that can be had inexpensively were from JVC, but I haven't listened to any recent ones or even seen whats out there.

well being that i am buying it, and i already own what i would call quility stuff... i want her to have the same... pluss i saw what she bought before, thats why i am buying her something... lol so sound quality is of utmost impartance...

she is very minimal, thats why a shelf system would be good.. she wouldnt like a huge honking receiver sitting on the bookshelf, and the fact that it wouldnt fit...

Shelf system

How about one of those panasoinc digital receivers and a good pair of bookshelf speakers from Onix, Ascend, or Axiom. Plug in her iPod or another source and she will be set.

i think i am going to go for one of the store bought micro systems.. ie. jvc, the lg one is nice... ill have to look at the differant features...
