2ch preamp with sub out recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good 2ch preamp with subwoofer output? I have a 200WX7 power amp and use the pre-outs of an AVR as the preamp. The movie mode is good but the 2ch music mode can use some improvement.

I plan to use this 2ch preamp for CD music. Thanks.

Receiver modes

Does your receiver have a pure direct mode? Try it out. Using this with analog connections from a good transport will probably improve your 2 channel performance.

I did try the pure direct mode. It is a bit better. But it is still not good enough. It still cuts off the treble.

That does not sound like an pre amp issue. More like a speaker or room acoustics issue. What speakers are you using?
