This may sound like a dumb question, but can a dvd-a disc be played in 2 ch. on a regular dvd player?

(edit) Sorry I just realized I should have posted on the cd/dvd thread

I can't put it to the test, as my player supports DVD-A, but all 2 of my DVD-A disks say on them that they will play 2 channel on any DVD player. I believe they has a separate set of tracks for that purpose.

Thanks for the reply, I'll go out and pick one up and hope it'll work. That's what I wanted to hear, just don't have the funds for a universal player yet.
And if anyone else can confirm this would be much appreciated.

Most DVD-A disc contains mult channel and Stereo (2 ch) advanced resolution contents. In both cases (even the 2 channel advanced resolution content), you need a DVD-A capable player.

Some DVD-A disc also contain Dolby Digital, DTS, and video contents that can be played back by a DVD video player. You should read the content label at the back of the disc before you buy it.
