I've been saving up for my new hd big screen for the basement to truely enjoy Annunaki's custom built sub he made. It's awesome and I highly recommend him.

Now that's been put on hold because my tv in my bedroom no longer works and I need to replace that asap. It will go in an armoire so 26" is probably the max.

I only watch the tv about an hour a night as I fall asleep watching either football, sports center, or letterman. I do have an extra direct tv hd20 receiver that I can put in the room.

Here's what I've found for about $400.
vizio 26" va26lhdtv10t
haier 26" hl26r
Toshiba 26" 26av502u

Here anything good or bad about these or recommend something else? I don't mind spending another $100 if it's worth it, but it'll just take a little longer to get my new big screen for my home theater room.

if thats all you use it for. why don't ya look on craigslist and get a SD tv, for allmost, if not, free. TONS of em around me.

we have a 26" SD in the kitchen/dinning room. we don't watch it much, so its good enough for now. sides, it reminds us just how good HD really is.

save the money for the HT room.

I would say avoid the Haier, just because they don't have any part in the production process other than logos.

the tv is going into an armoire and a sd tube tv won't fit so I need to go lcd. I don't want to punch a hole in the back of the armoire and have it stick out the back.

I agree with seth, stay away from the haier, toshiba and sammys would be my choice.

Good to hear from you again sir!!

For 26" I usually recommend Samsung & Panasonic.

If Picture quality is not overly critical the Vizio's are okay. The Toshiba would be my pick though if the pricing was equal.

I went with the Toshiba. No shipping no tax for $389. Thanks for the input. I've had my 52" DLP Toshiba for 4 years now and haven't had a problem and have been very happy with it.
