Hi,
Trying to choose a receiver for my first HT system. Going to set it up at a 3.1 system initially but expand to 5.1 or even 7.1 over time. The room set up will require me to get wireless speakers for surround... dont have that yet. Looking for something around $250-300, and narrowed down to following models:
Denon 1712 ($238 +shipping on accessories4less)
- Seems to e very highly recommended across this forum
- Audyssey implementation on higher end for this price range (Mult EQ XT vs 2EQ for NR-515)
- 90W vs 80W for NR-515
- Big negative is no internet connectivity
Onkyo NR-515 ($270 + s/h on a4less)
- Internet connectivity with Spotify built-in... which i use a lot.
- Heard that Onkyo has a lot of audio drop-off issues which also makes me hesitant on this. However will be connecting all my HDMI devices to the TV and then getting audio-out through TV via S/PDIF into receiver... this should solve the HDMI-handshake related drop-off issues right?
Basically, trying to judge whether internet and getting Spotify built-in (so play without having ipod around) worth lower Audyssey implementation, lower (rated) wattage and potential drop-off issues? Will the last 3 negatives even be noticable to me... internet connectivity and Spotify definitely will be.
thanks!
