I've read a few times recently that the above series of cd's(I believe by MCA) are a good place to look for compliations of artists with good sound quality. Does anybody have any opinion of these?? In particular I'm interested in Peter Frampton, Humble Pie, Steppenwolf, Deep Purple and The Who (looks like a trip back to my teenage rockin' daze!)............

I have the Steppenwolf CD. Sound quality is indeed very good, and I'm suprised that I ended up liking the unknown tracks more than 'Born To Be Wild' and 'Magic Carpet Ride'.

I have 8 or 9 of the Millenium Series discs and I think the sound quality is very good. They each have 10 songs on them so they are not ideal as a 'greatest hits' package for bands that have had a long career and far more than 10 songs you know and like, but are otherwise excellent when you can get the majority of songs you want on one disc.

I would not buy the Millenium disc for the Who. I'm not a super huge Who fan but 10 songs just doesn't cut it for the Who. A better choice IMO would be The Essentials, which is a 2 CD set.
