I just got a pair of klipsch sf-3 for a good deal and now I need a receiver to hook them up and enjoy my new toy. I only have 2-300 dollars to spend. I will probably only use the two speakers for now. I might upgrade to surround in the future. I will hook up my tv, cd/dvd. would like to play my ipod through the system.
I have looked at the denon 1705, the panasonic xr55, and the refurbished onkyo 602. I'm new to home theater and audio and would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Can I hook up two speakers to a 7.1 or will I be better off getting a 2 channel receiver? thank you.

I have a set of these and I used a Harmon Kardon AVR235 for awhile. I sold that however and now I drive them with a Denon 3801. I like the Denon a bit more, but the Harmon Kardon did a good job as well. With the budget you have if you don't need the features that only the latest model can present I say go used. I got my Denon for a very small precentage of what it orginally sold for and I think its great.

Good Luck -
Anthony
