2-Zone Amp with Optical Source

Not sure if anybody here has had this ame problem but I figured I would ask anyway. I have an HTPC connected to my Onkyo TX805 Receiver with optical cable. Sound is great for plaing movies in zone 1 but for some reason this receiver is limited on the type of connection tha can be utilized in order to output sound to zone 2. It requires the source to be connected with an analog connection which is why I cannot play music on my patio from the HTPC since this is a digital connection. I guess my question is what is the easiest way around this with still being able to get digital signal for my theatre room?

I had an idea but not sure if it would work. Is it possible to have the optical and analog connection on the PC to be working at the same time? I could use the optical for zone one and the analog jack for zone 2. I have also thought about adding a second PC jus to handle music playing but don't like the idea of having a seperate mouse and keyboard just for this. Thank you for any ideas...

Yes it is standard practice to have to use both connections.

Does that mean that both can work at the same time or will I have to switch back and forth between outputs on the PC?
