2 Questions: 1) Acoustic Cloud Ceiling and 2) gap vs thickness

Hi,

Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

As the title suggests, I have a couple of questions for my room treatment.

For acoustic cloud ceiling usage, has anyone tried Pinta Acoustic's Whisper Wave or RPG BAD panels? The former seems decent and look nice but is that foam good enough? I've read good thinks about the RPG BAD panels but they are quite pricey.

Secondly, for typical wall mounted bass traps/absorbers, is a thicker one flush-mounted more effective than a thinner one offset-mounted? IOW, I have the option of going 2" thick and putting a 3.5" air gap on there or get a 4" one and have it against the wall. I want the surface to not extend beyond the flat panel tv.

Thx.

1) No input here on acoustic clouds.

2) Nothing beats pure mass. Go with the thicker one. A gap may help the trap to be more efficient, but again, nothing beats pure mass. They "typical" 2 inch trap will pretty much be useless for bass.
