I have a NAD C355 BEE amp and I would like to run (2) sets of outdoor speakers (4 total) - both sets will have 8 ohms impedence. The C355 spec reads;
* 2 x 80W Continuous Power into 8 ohms
* 140W, 220W, 270W IHF Dynamic power into 8, 4 and 2 ohms, respectively.s

Will my amp handle the (2) sets of speakers or am I risking a problem with my amp?

Thanks for your help,
Derek

I'm going to be using TIC Corp 8 ohms rock and patio speakers. Haven't purchased yet.

Derek,

After reviewing the C355BEE's manual online, you should be OK with either of the following set ups:

1) Connect two pairs of 8 ohm speakers in a parallel electrical connection to the Speaker A terminals,

OR

2) Connect one pair of 8 Ohm speakers to the Speaker A terminals, and the second pair of 8 Ohm speakers to the Speaker B terminals. Then press in both the "Speakers A and B buttons" on the amp's front panel.

However, pick one option or the other and do NOT do both of the above together, that would create too low of a load and damage the amp! :(

Furthermore, leave the Soft Clipping Switch on the back of the amp in "ON" to protect your speakers/amp when listening at higher volumes. (Manual p.8)

Lastly, if the "Protection LED" turns RED during use, then either the TIC speakers advertised 8 Ohm rating is optimistic (unlikely) or there is a short somewhere in the installation.

Cheers,
