ok, so i'm in the market for a nice pair of bookshelves around $300 to $400. this will go in a small bedroom, that will serve two functions...a workout room for my wife(just bought her a treadmill), and a two channel music appreciation room for me.
i've narrowed my choices down to the following:
-energy rc-10s
-psb b25s
-axiom m3s or m22s
i have an eD a3s-250 sub that will supplement them, and i'll be driving them with my adcom gfa 545II or a used HK avr/stereo receiver, w/ an old technics 5 disc changer for my cd source and an older teac turntable from my college days.
right now i'm kinda leaning towards the axiom m22s as they seem to be best of the bunch(also the most expensive). i unfortunately don't have any dealers close so i'm really going on reviews and word of mouth here. being able to try out the axioms at home is a great concept. my only worry w/ the m22s is that they may be too "detailed", what i've read is that they tend to make the bad recordings sound bad because of their accuracy. this concerns me b/c my music tastes tend to lean to the indie rock persuation, and a lot my favorite bands' recordings are not what you would call "reference" material. i also have an energy c-series set up in my ht, so i know i'll probably be a fan of the rc10s since i love my current ht speakers. i've always been intrigued by psb speakers, and i've read that the b25s are great for belting out rock music...
can you guys give me some advice on what will be the best chouce based off of my listening habits from my three choices of speaker?
