2.1 speaker recommendation to complement noob a/v receiver

i post here due to am i new to all the lastest tech vs posting this in "loudspeaker" form.

quite certain i'll be ordering my first ever AV receiver soon, a denon x2000 or denon s900w.

i want to start with 2.1 speaker combo and seeking some recommendations. preferably bookshelf type versus tower.

another poster enlightened me on the advantages of the bookshelf flexibility with experimenting moving around, etc., as these are my first a/v type setup and i can add to them later.
