2/0 and DD cable box???

i just hooked up my scientific atlanta explorer 8000 cable box with a optical cable... anyhow every channel is 2/0 why is that?

Many channels are DD 2.0 but several use DD 5.1 and if you always get 2.0 it could be that you have the digital audio menu setting of the cable box set to 'other'. Set it to Dolby Digital.
