Hey all, stumbled on this forum and have been reading TONS of great info, lots and lots to learn...I tried posting a bit over at avsforum with no luck, from the looks of the posts here, people are a bit more helpful!
I am putting together a HT/Stereo system for $1500 or less, which will include fronts, rears, a center, sub, receiver and DVD player. The WAF factor is making me stick with satellites, so large speakers are out. I would like to use the system for about 50% HT and 50% music. The room is about 14' x 11' with 8' ceilings, but is is open to a kitchen of about the same size, sort of a Family Room/Kitchen/Great Room deal...
I was originally looking at the Denon S-301 system, but I really don't think I'll be happy with 2.1, so I have my sights sort of set on the KEF 2005.2 system, which can be had for about $1000 with the sub right now. I am also looking at the Denon AVS1707 which can be had for some great deals right now as well, leaving me a bit of money left over for a DVD player.
Any thought or experiences with this system form anyone? Anyone have any better ideas for that price range?
Thanks in advance for your ideas!
Mike
