18" sealed sub EQ and amp?

I'll be building a sealed 4CF box with an 18" Dayton driver:
Box; 4 cu ft Subwoofer box - Subwoofer Cabinets - Flat Packs DIY Sound Group
Driver; 4 cu ft Subwoofer box - Subwoofer Cabinets - Flat Packs DIY Sound Group

I've read quite a few threads where guys have used this combo and have been pretty happy with the results. My question is about amps and equalization mainly. I could get a 500 or 1000 watt plate amp with built in parametric EQ to deal with the frequency roll off of a sealed driver, or will Audyssey MultEQ XT32 give enough EQ to compensate? If so I could get a more powerful rack amp. Would that work?

How do people with sealed passive subs and stand alone amplifiers deal with EQ?

What is your budget?

MiniDSP is usually one option that is mentioned when it comes to EQing subs.

Did anyone modeled that Sub in 4cu box for you or you are guessing here?
Usually around here on diy subs people tend to use pro-amps. MiniDSP as mentioned above is a great option for EQ and other dsp.
Option b would be to get Behringer Pro amp with built-in DSP like these one: Behringer: iNUKE NU3000DSP
