Hello, I have renovated my basement to have a dedicated cinema room. The room is about 20 feet long, by 15 feet wide, and the ceileings are about 8 feet high. the floor is wooding. I would just like to know which would be the best system to go with my new 61" samsung dlp. I currently have a htib, but it isnt cutting it. I would like to upgrade everything. If there is something around the 1500$ pircemark (canadian) tyhat includes everything (speakers, sub and receiver) that wold be great. I purchased new polk audio r15 for surround, but they could be returned, in the next 30 days...thanks for any and all help

What have you listened to? Are you in my area(BC)?

The Velodyne Deco system is around $500 at A&Bsound, and all you will need is a receiver and speaker wire. It has a 600WRMS, 1200WPEAK subwoofer and good quality sats.

Another option is the Athena Micra 6 system. It has 4 sats, 1 center, and a sub. The subwoofer isn't as good as the velodyne systems, and the sats are a bit lighter, but its a great system for the money. This will also require a receiver.

Both these system have been reviewed by this site. But, with a room your size, I think the velodyne is a better suite because of the more powerful subwoofer.

Any decent Yamaha, Denon, HK, or Pioneer receiver will be able to drive these sets.

I also heard good things about the microa 6 system. I just ordered it for 400$ off, at 299$ from futureshop (CDN)...im gonna test them out and then decide to keep them or not
