Does anyone know where i can find a Wall-Wart that is 3-12V with a 3.5mm(1/8") positive tip? My Emo UL LPA-1 has a 12v trigger but my HK AVR235 dosnt. Trying to find a way to power the amp on besides manually. Any help would be great. Thanks guys

What do you intend to do with the wall-wart?

I'm not familiar with the AVR235 but most receivers have a switched outlet in the back for that purpose. If not, get a power monitor/conditioner like the ones from Monster that will do the switching.

dont use the switched outlet at the back of the receiver.
most of those are rated at a max of 100w

I have read that you can use a 12v wall wart plugged into the switched outlet on the back of an AVR to power the Amp on. Just looking for asimple and cheap solution to get away from manually turning it off an on all the time.

Another question is there a certain order that you should turn you gear on and off in?

I still dont get what a wall Wart is ...

order turning on should be: receiver - amp
turning off: amp - receiver

(i have my player plugged into the switched outlet)

I dontknow if that is a name given to them or if it is acually the real name. A Wall-wart is a wall transformer. The little power boxes that plug into the base of a cordless phone or answering machine. You can use them connected to the switched outlet on the back of a reciever as a 12v trigger.

Easy One! Use your AV to TRIGGER the Amp

It is a big no-no to plug your Amp into the Switched AC outlet on your AVR, but you can use this power-on AC plug on the back to Trigger your Amp.

Get a 6v to 12V AC/DC converter and a 3.5MM jack from Rat Shack. Cut off the power plug end of the converter and install the 3.5 Mini Plug; plug the AC/DC Adapter into the back of your AVR and the 3.5MM mini plug into the Trigger Input on your Amp.

Now every time your AVR is powered on the AC outlet in back is also powered on; the AC/DC Adapter plugged into it sends a Signal to your Amp's 12V Trigger and the Amp turns on; problem solved.
