12v Trigger Mono Vs. Stereo

Hey all,
I just purchased an outlaw 755 amp and a denon 3806 and wanted to use the trigger switch. I was searching the internet for the appropriate cable and was coming up short.
It states in the Outlaw manual to use a mono 3.5mm (1/8") cable. While cleaning up around my house I stumbled across a 1/8" cable but Im unsure if its mono or stereo. Is there any way from lookin at the cable to tell if I can use this? Will it have a negative effect on the amp if it is in fact a stereo cable? Or will it not even work with the stereo cable?

Well, for one thing, a mono plug will only have one separator between the tip and the sleeve. A stereo plug will have two, separating the three elements, the tip, the ring and the sleeve.

Either should work for a trigger.

Cool, I was gonna put that it only had one black ring, but wasnt sure how significant it was. Looks like Im all set then. Thanks for your reply.
