That will work. A mono version of that cable will also work. They use a 3.5mm miniplug

Yep. I got one for $2 from Parts Express. Nothing more than a headphone cord.

They are around 6 bucks at the RAT Shack if you ned one in a hurry. They also come with bare wires on one end and a mini-plug on the other if your set up requires that.

I found that a stereo plug would not work with my 12v triggers. I replaced it with a mono cable and everything works great. It wasn't easy to find a mono cable either, but luckily a local shop found it in a catalog and ordered it in for me.

what is the difference between a stereo and mono plug?

Just to add to what P-Dawg said, two black rings on the jack is stereo, while one black ring is mono. They are normally labeled pretty clearly on the packaging or on a website whether they are stereo or mono, so you shouldn't have much trouble if you go to buy one.

Radio Shack (and others) also sell stereo-to-mono adapters for those 1/8" (or 3.5mm) plugs. So, if you can't find a mono cable for whatever reason, you could use those adapters on a stereo cable.

Good stuff! Thanks for the info. Just need to plug in a few more cables and build a riser and my room will be complete.
