Hi- I have some idea of what to expect of the Mitsu and Samsung 1080p DLP 60+ inch HDTVs. Has anyone any idea of the new Toshiba or HP sets? The ads look pretty good....the Toshiba is somewhat less money for the same size of Mitsu or even Samsung..

HP's tv is made by Panasonic- one of the best then. Toshiba is a good brand; don't know much about their plasmas.

I did not know that. I have read that HP's 1080p is the only TV currently that will accept a 1080p signal, making it "futureproof"- all other 1080p TVs will accept up to 1080i signal only....true?

Hello
I have the 62hm195 and I very happy with the purchase. It does accept
1080i via HDMI from my oppo dvd without any problems. I compared all the sets and was more than satisfied with performance and the price.

I have not seen the Toshiba, but I was looking to purchase a 70"+ DLP. What got me there was the assertion by someone that only DLP and liquid crystal on silicone are true digital pictures--i.e., that even LCD, Plasma and CRTs are all analog. I was looking at the new Tosh cinema series DLP, but I am hesitating now because while it does 1080p, I am told that no 1080p signal is currently available -- you will have to wait for blu-ray DVD or for tV broadcasts in it (which would seem to be a while off). Thus I think I might be better off waiting a few years, as prices will only go down and quality will get better.

anyone think I am working off bad info here? thanks.
