1080p component to HDMI on Yamaha 3900

I recently purchased the 3900 and I hooked up my Xbox into the component input@1080p because its the old generation. I found that my receiver would not pass the signal through HDMI to my TV. It seems like this is a known issue from what I found on AVS forums.

Does the Denon 3808CI have the same problem? Are there any receivers that will do this?

I'm wondering because this is a big problem for me right now and spending the $$$ on a receiver to make cabling easier has actually not done anything. I'm considering returning the receiver.

Look at your 3900 manual, page 17. It refers to page 93 for details. With heading call Anolog>HDMI

You should be able to upconvert to 1080p. In the Video settings...you have to set it to "Processing" instead of "Through"

Let me know if you need more help...since I do have the same receiver.
