1015TX Turns off on its own

In the middle of gaming or movie watching, my receiver just shuts itself off... reading my instruction manual it seems that this problem indicates that either my speaker wire is frayed, loose, or touching the receiver itself or that there is something seriously wrong with the unit itself. Well I double checked all of the wiring and it's fine... I even redid several connections just to be double sure. Still shutting off.

Suggestions?

Thanks guys.

Sounds faulty, IMO. Is it under warranty, did you buy it from a authorized dealer?

Also do you have the ohm select in 6 or 8 ohm mode?
Edit:: Those Athena fronts do claim a 8 ohm compatible, and are quite efficient at 93db. So it should work in 8 ohm mode, however you may want to try the receiver in 6ohm mode.

Ok, thats great. So since thats the case, it should run those Athena's effortlesly, so I would bring it back to BB, and have them do an even exchange. A second unit is 99.9% chance of not being faulty. Or at least not the same fault. If by chance at that time you still have the same problem, I would open up all of those Athena's to make sure there is no direct short inside them....

Sounds like a plan to me, now I just gotta dig up my receipt. Luckily the box has all kinds of Best Buy stickers on it indicating inventory, and even a Best Buy Home Theater Installation offer...lol :D

Did you check the wires on each of the speakers? Might try that before you exchange it.

Hmm, he did put this down. So I thought he did check each wire.

One good thing about Best Buy

If you paid by plastic, they can look back in their records and send you a copy of the receipt. The pimply faced little putz at the service counter should be able to do this for you. If he tries to take the lazy way out, like he did with me once, and have you call 1-800 BEST BUY you have my permission to jump the counter and render him incapable of reproduction.
