    Please recommend L/C/R speakers

I have a similar situation. I used Polk Signature, and even though the room may not be the ideal setup, it sounds amazing. I did the S15s and S35 LCR, and S10 satellites. I have a klipsch 12” sub. It was under $1000 in speakers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Subwoofer and Humming

That’s happened to me before, when our dogs hit the rca cable and pulled it out a bit. It also happened by the receiver rca connections. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Office/Media Room

Built a stand yesterday in the cold garage, but a hot mug of coffee cured that. Pretty happy with it. We will see how it sounds later. I actually enjoy these speakers in 3.0. Don’t laugh lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Polk Audio vs. Klipsch syndrome.

This is just my opinion., as everyone has their preferences for sound. The only thing that steered me away from the Klipsch was the use of horn tweeters, unless you went with their higher line. At the time I was looking at those versus the Polk Signature series in the end and I went with Polk...

    Office/Media Room

Could it have been a “cold” speaker needing defrosting? I can see how breakin/loosening up of the speaker materials makes sense, or my perception of the sound needed to change. Idk. [emoji2957] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Office/Media Room

Center channel got here today. The towers have broken in nicely. Smooth bass and great imaging with music and movies. At first I wasn’t keen on the center channel but knew it needed a little break in. Now I think think it sounds amazing. I have a little time to decide on the rear and Atmos...

    Office/Media Room

Awesome! I guess this will be the next best thing. The center speaker is the same width and length, just not as tall as the tower. Just missing an extra 6.5” woofer and a port. [emoji13] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Office/Media Room

I was able to move the speakers another 2” apart on each side. I decided on going with the center channel, being timbre matched and an important speaker. Also going to have to stand the center channel vertical which shouldn’t be a bad thing. It will be about 4” off center laying it flat. I’ve...

    Office/Media Room

Thank you, that was something I was trying to figure out, I’ll set it at 8 ohms. I can move my desk over another 2 inches and move the left speaker another foot towards the door. Will that work? I imagine I’ll just have to rerun Audyssey. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Office/Media Room

I have a 13x11 office that I work from home and use for listening to records. Also have a Panasonic 46” plasma 720p and still love the picture as long as I draw thick curtains in front of that big window (nice sound deadening!) As usual Black Friday allowed me some upgrades. I got a great deal...

Building new house. Could use some setup advice

Right. Home building always had trends. Seems like all the models had TVs over the fireplace. Lol. I say happy couple, happy life, too. We plan on staying here 5 years and then building again In a warmer climate. So I am going to design the room around the tv and do in walls. I’ve learned a...

Building new house. Could use some setup advice

Definitely, good point. Not ideal to watch tv and have a fire going in this situation. Premature TV death is not too bad of a thing considering after a while I’ll want a better one. When designing the house I was not on board with the TV over the fireplace, but wifey was in love with the idea...

Building new house. Could use some setup advice

From what the builder told us and why they put tv hookups over the fireplace, is the fireplace is more visual than functional. I know.. but they said only about 10% of the fires heat is radiated into the house. The mantel being 8” will also deflect heat away from the TV. So the fireplace is...

Building new house. Could use some setup advice

For one, that’s a very high fireplace. Second, I would never put a TV over a wood burning fireplace. Ours is gas and power vented so it’s safe. We didn’t use the fireplace at all at our old house. So I imagine we won’t use it much. Thanks for the concern and sharing. Wow that would have...

    Does such a thing exist?

I have a NETGEAR Nighthawk and it puts out a helluva wireless signal. Would probably work for you. Meanwhile you could run an Ethernet cable along the basement ceiling to whichever room you want to put the router and that will get your wireless upstairs...
