    Monoprice Monolith 7-Channel Amplifier Review

Excellent question. Someone will be able to answer this in a more astute fashion than a neophyte like me, however I’m runner the monoprice 7 ch with revel 208’s. AVR is the Denon 5200X. I’m not sure about the output for mine but yours would seem negligible @ .5 watt differential. W/o an A/B test...

    On and off

It’s not the subs. They all turn on just fine. It might be the auto trigger sensor. I can bypass the auto switch and turn them to “on”. Works fine therefore it can’t be the output form the preamp, cable, or sub power. I could probably turn the trim up on each and then make an override adjustment...

    Monoprice Monolith 7

Whoa! Hey man. I did sell it. I’ll bet I’m gunna regret it someday as I could be bi-amping everything. I just didn’t have much space and wanted to have $$ to help pay for the other amp. At least that’s what I tell myself. Sort of like guns and guitars. If you not moving up in quality, never sell...

    On and off

I’ll have to dig a bit but can sort front/rear pre-out vs my left/right choices (two pre’s split into front and rear). The Minidsp is not in the equation so sorry I put that in there. So, first I’ll swap connections , then try the trim. They are turned way, way down due to the small-ish room...

    On and off

Actually the eq is done by Audyessy, not the dsp. The denon has two outputs for two subs. I think, (can’t look right now) that they are on a splitter, ergo; two subs into one output for front subs, two subs on the other output for rear subs. Yes, I’ve set the auto-on switch on which works on two...

    On and off

I have 4 klipsch 12 inch subs (R-112) that are just a few years old. I use a Denon 5200 receiver to herd them along. All of my system has been calibrated with Audyssey plus an eq gizmo. Each sub is located in each corner of course but, my right front and the left rear will shut off before I power...

    Monoprice Monolith 7-Channel Amplifier Review

You may or may not notice any difference. It all depends on the whole set-up. If you want to try a monolith on the cheap I have one new-in-box. Shipping error. $1000 bucks or OBO and its yours. Literally still in the shipping box.

Should I add a second sub? Where? (see picture)

Your left may be land locked but you could try placing the right one in its corner or next to your sectional on the right end. I realize it might be totally impractical to move it out in the middle but it could act as an end table next to the sectional.

    Should I get an amp

Disregard all the above posts and just buy my new Monolith 7. More power, more happy. Do it.

Get a long cable and be flexible to placement.

next I think you are on the right track. I'd try setting it next to the right main as a starting point. You'll probably have to slide it all over the room to be truly satisfied. Find a great source you know well, then start sliding it about. You will be happier with two as opposed to one. Good luck.

Requesting feedback on 5.2.1 Atmos Experience

As mentioned before, I have virtually no room behind me for the Lt and Rt “rear” surrounds. I am using klipsch di-poles as the regular surrounds and ideally I’d use wide speakers too. Then moving forward, front L,R,C, normal setup. I called Denon and the tech suggested I use my current di-pole...

Requesting feedback on 5.2.1 Atmos Experience

I have read this before and yes, this Denon is confusing. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one scratching my head on amp assignment issues. Thanks for the advice.

Denon AVR-X5200W. Did you understand my question? I hope that it was clear and not convoluted.

Requesting feedback on 5.2.1 Atmos Experience

Not my thread but hopefully this is relevant. I’m getting rid of my Atmos bouncey speakers (4) and replacing them with 2 in ceiling speakers. I have zero room for “back” surrounds, just regular surrounds offset about -10 degrees from my MLP. I have 2 bookshelves speakers that I want to continue...

    Receiver/Amp trigger question

The above advice is correct. Once I set my Denon/Monolith up, I’ve never had a power up issue.
