    Help! Tidal ruined everything…

I can connect with AirPlay, but I don’t think the receiver supports Airplay 2 so if I get a phone call, the music gets interrupted.

    Help! Tidal ruined everything…

I need some suggestions. I own an Integra DRX5 AVR and I use both additional zones for outdoor speakers. I had been using Tidal built in to stream Tidal Masters (lossless audio) direct through my receiver which is connected to my network via Ethernet cable (hardwired). Enter Tidal Connect… no...

HALO TV series on Paramount Network

It gets better. I was concerned after Episode 1 that they were completely plagiarizing The Mandolorian, but Episode 2 sorted that out…

L/R Speaker placement for movies verses music

How do the Fortes sound compared to the towers? I have only heard Klipsch towers.

    Midway

I found that it made the whole story extremely immersive. To me it added to the intensity of the film.

    I know I'm opening Pandora's box, but . . . (looking for audio advice)

I’ve had my AVR for 3 years now. I bought it new for $2700. You can buy it now new on amazon for $1400. When a new model comes out, the older ones depreciate pretty fast and considering the changes are fairly slight, I won’t spend as much on an AVR next time around.

    Denon or Onkyo?

With the Denon, you could use 2 of your surround channels for a Zone 2 yes, but can that channel play a different source at the same time as the main source? The Onkyo does. Even if it will, you are sacrificing one set of surround speaker outputs. So yes, I do believe for multi-zone audio the...

    Denon or Onkyo?

What about Yamaha do you like better? I have heard a lot of people prefer Yamaha, but not many explainations as to why. Do you utilize their Music Cast at all? I realize this is off topic but am curious.

    Denon or Onkyo?

I believe the gap has narrowed significantly lately. My friend has a Denon 8500 and he loved it, but has had to exchange it twice. My Integra I have had for 3 years with no issues. Onkyo’s newer products are much more dependable than in the past. Either that or I just got lucky...

    Denon or Onkyo?

Where are you getting that information? The Onkyo is ready to stream Tidal Masters out of the box. Also if you have hardwired multi-zone the Onkyo typically has dedicated Powered Zones where Denon seems to have shifted their attention toward their Heos wireless multi-Zone offerings. Not saying...

    Denon or Onkyo?

I stream Tidal and have multiple Hardwired zones. These features give Onkyo an edge. If you are looking to expand wirelessly to other rooms, the Denon H series (Heos) would be a better choice.

    In-Ceiling Speaker Configuration

No I can’t. The kitchen is open behiNd the listening area and WAF won’t allow for stands. I do have the rear pair plugged into Surround L/R, not as I initially described.

    In-Ceiling Speaker Configuration

So in my Family Room I have 4 in-ceiling speakers that were pre-wired by my builder (10’ HT Ceiling). I sit about 15’ from the front wall. I use a passive L/C/R speaker for my front soundstage. Two of the in-ceiling speakers are right above where I sit, L and R. The other two are about halfway...

...What @shadyJ said! Although I am surprised he didn’t recommend two SB-3000 subs!

    Headphone Cables

Santa brought me a Periapt Cable. Very inexpensive (less than $100) considering the build quality. Probably still more than others would spend, but I was able to request the length I needed so no adapters or extensions.

Paradigm Premier-700f or Martin Logan 20i for Stereo Music Listening ?

I am about 50/50 in my setup and I love the Paradigm sound. They make vocals sound very good. To me, they sound much more dynamic than the Martin Logan. I found the Martin Logan’s kind of boring TBH. I also think the Paradigm will give you better bass response although with the subs you have...

Which is worth the price and sound quality - Martin Logan 20 Or KEF Q550

ML is very smooth and at that price very reasonable. They are normally overpriced IMO. I’ve never heard KEF. The ML is too smooth for my taste, but they are very easy to listen to.

Why mainstream brand subs so wimpy ?

I agree. I meant to cite the comparison between Paradigm and SVS, not Polk. My opinion about the Polk sub was that in the right conditions, a pair of them may be all you would need.

Why mainstream brand subs so wimpy ?

I have a couple of friends who own SVS Ultra subs and one friend who owns a Paradigm Prestige 2000 that he pairs with his Prestige towers. I would put his Paradigm up against the SVS any day. It performs equally well and aesthetically looks waaaay better. I have found the higher price usually...
