    Klipsch LCR need advice

I would be okay with the Klipsch replacing the Bose, especially if it's mostly a HT/movie usage, but there are speakers I like better for music. Magnolia...at least here Martin Logan is a good option that you can hear....the ML40 and ML60 are both good choices...with subs, I actually prefer the...

Denon AVR X-3600 vs AVR X-3700

I never thought of it that way actually, (I haven't given 8k any thought) but truth be told. I'm a music head...video not on the same level at all, so I don't need the latest and greatest video. I have three 4k TVs largely because the manufacturers with inventory and pricing more or less forced...

Denon AVR X-3600 vs AVR X-3700

Congrats on your AVR3600! Assuming you bought it. I'm not one to say never in the Audio/Video world, but there's a good chance I may never own an 8k TV.

    I own a Denon AVR X4500-Do I need a DAC?

DACs are important...and in some cases an upgrade can actually be heard...for instance...your laptop computer has a DAC built in it...laptops in general are not built to be music devices so the attention the DAC gets is not the same quality as your AVR. Same with a tablet or cellphone...yes, you...

    SACD and multi-channel questions

    SACD and multi-channel questions

You and me both. I started out looking at the new B&W 800 series V D3 and quickly turned the page based on the new pricing. I'll answer your question this way. I'm an unabashed Salk fanboy now and I think you could spend less than $10k and come away with a dream speaker...while I love my...

    SACD and multi-channel questions

Lots of good stuff here per norm, but your most egregious sin I disagree with. SACD is a source...whether it's a lot better, slightly better or not any better than a redbook CD...it's still a source ...one of the most important components in audio playback along with the room and the speakers...

    SACD and multi-channel questions

Thinking out loud more than anything...but I'm wondering if he could process a streamed multi-ch signal via USB. I have some multi-ch sacd discs that I've ripped to my laptop and I playback via the laptop and they will playback in multi-channel if I have media player selected on the...

    SACD and multi-channel questions

Short answer...multi-ch SACD discs are where the true wow factor is on most recordings. Your equipment is fine. Processing...for multi-ch discs...I'm playing back via a Oppo 205...and it's connected to the prepro, 3 different ways...HDMI (blu-ray on prepro) analog multi-ch (assignable media...

Thoughts on two center channels... Hear me out on this please.

Now that I have a good CC, I wouldn't go phantom, but that's not a bad idea to keep everything looking clean.

Thoughts on two center channels... Hear me out on this please.

CC above the video source typically leave something desire for movie audio. This is one of those situations where during the install cosmetics won out over functionality...in spite of the neat looking TV recessed area... I would go the same route as Movie2099...raise the TV and get a regular...

    AV receiver or custom pre-amp

I was going to throw in my redundant 2 cents...but I saw this post. Smart move...I have a pre-pro and I like it, but I would have no problem at all using a AVR in prepro mode. Paying good money for old technology just didn't register as being a wise move.

    Subwoofer upgrade...time to get serious.....ish

I have a pair of the HSU VTF3 mk5...my space is 18x16x9 open to a hallway and great room...hard to beat the pair for value and performance in a medium size space.

Advise on one sub or two?? HT

The SVS cylinders are awesome subs and wont's have a massive footprint. FWIW...the footprint for a 15" sealed sub and a 15" ported sub is only a few inches in some cases...a lot of the size difference is in the height. (HSU 15" sealed is 18w" x 18d"....the ported VTF3 mk5 is 17.5w"x 21.5d")

Advise on one sub or two?? HT

Replace the Kef with the one SVS...when funds permit you can add another one. Not sure how large your room is, but I'm certain you can find one sub that can handle it. The big deal about 1 vs 2 subs is mostly in balancing out the bass throughout all the seating areas....some people can find...

Thoughts on this $4000 budget 5.1.4 speaker selection?

Congrats on the new home! AVR...I would save a few bucks and get the lower priced AVR. Rears...it won't be ideal, but inwall surrounds are better than inceiling...I'll go a step further here and note...do not put your surrounds in the ceiling....they will interfere with the atmos speakers...

    Upgrading my setup

I've never had the opportunity to listen to a Rythmik sub to know the effect of their Direct Servo technology. When you get into bench testing I think we can start to have a conversation about which one comparable model is better, but I think with most of these direct sell sub companies...

    Upgrading my setup

Not to sound like a broken record, but I concur with upgrading the Polk Sub first. If the system is primarily for movies...you might think the sub upgrade to be enough...hate to go from zero to 1000 in that direction, but depending on the room size...two subs might be the ultimate upgrade. If...
