    Basements for home theaters?

Thanks, yes concrete foundation. Not an end unit. I believe there is separation between each basement. There is always a firewall behind the wall. I'm not a crazy bass head like some with 4 JTR or PSA subs but of course I do like bass for movies. I'm thinking it will be ok but no way of being...

    Basements for home theaters?

We have been searching for houses for a long time now. We had a deal for a house fall through because the lady had a bunch of liens she couldn't pay. Anyway we saw a really, really nice townhouse with a big finished basement. Would you think it would be ok for a home theater in not disturbing...

    SVS PB1000 and PB2000 Pro/2 amps.

I have two SVS subs for sale. A PB1000, that's the older non pro version. I also have a PB2000 pro for sale but two working amps. The amp that's in it works just fine but the Bluetooth function stopped working so it won't hook to the SVS app. I have a new amp on the way that should be here...

Awesome thanks for the suggestion. I'm on the lookout for good ones now.

    Unconventional hanging of speakers?

Heard my first really cool Atmos movie! We watched 10 Cloverfield lane last night. Very cool affects coming from above. I can imagine 4 Atmos being so much better though. Very, very cool though. What are some other really good Atmos movies? Any suggestions?

    Unconventional hanging of speakers?

Nope, no damage to the wall or the paint thankfully. Whew!

    Unconventional hanging of speakers?

Yeah, poop happens right. Main thing is the speaker didn't break or get damaged falling 9 feet and they are installed the correct way. By any chance does anyone have the Fire Cube? I have the newest Fire Cube and something is driving me up a wall here that I don't understand. In order to watch...

    Unconventional hanging of speakers?

Ok update time. Well everyone was right about the Velcro strips. Seemed to be a really solid strong hold to the wall but after about 12 hours down came the right Atmos speaker. To my surprise and to Polk's credit the speaker was not damaged at all! Not a freaking scratch. This speaker is...

    Unconventional hanging of speakers?

Yeah the speakers are 6 pounds each and the Velcro strips are rated at 10 pounds. I would use 2 strips on each speaker. I don't know that to do. I also could not find a stud but I was using those stud finders on my phone. Maybe I'll have to go to Home Depot and get a real one. It's a townhouse...

    Unconventional hanging of speakers?

I just bought the Polk XT90 speakers for Atmos on wall duty. Because we rent I don't want to put holes in the wall. I will if I have to but would this work and not be a problem? I know it will hold but will this leave the wall a mess after I take them down when we move? Industrial strength...

Polk XT90 Atmos speakers and general questions?

My mains are about 6 feet apart from each other. They are about 2 feet from the front wall. I think we have 10 foot ceilings.

Polk XT90 Atmos speakers and general questions?

So the "bouncy house" Atmos we are talking about? No way, I would never even try that. That always seemed like a terrible idea. I'll experiment I guess. I'm gonna try the front wall behind the TV. High up almost touching the ceiling. Same exact width of the main speakers. Sound like I'm on the...

Polk XT90 Atmos speakers and general questions?

Ok, now I'm confused. I see that these can pull double duty. Are we saying these won't be good in the position I'm planning to use them in?

Polk XT90 Atmos speakers and general questions?

Ok thanks for advice. I'm not totally sure how I would do that because I think these just have the keyhole on the back for mounting. I do like this idea though as it will be closer to the listening position. Thanks again.

Polk XT90 Atmos speakers and general questions?

Finally going to step up to Atmos. I have the Denon X3400H so it's only 2 front Atmos capable. Have had this receiver for years but just haven't done Atmos. I took a half ass attempt at it years ago but it sounded terrible because I half assed it. Any way I didn't want to go expensive for these...

JBL Studio 698 is at Crutchfield for $850 bucks each

I have the 570 mains, 530 surrounds, and man its a steal on the sale prices. I feel like I robbed JBL. No better bang for the buck in all of HT in my opinion. Sound is impressive and for the price outstanding! I have an older 3 way JBL center too but can't remember the model number.

    Definitive technology sale

I was a big Def Tech guy when I first got into this hobby, back when they were only sold in brick mortar mom and pop stores. I had them for many, many years. Then I went to RSL for a year or so but now JBL Studio 5 speakers. Def Tech will always be my break in to "high end".

    5.1/Atmos music streaming volumes

I was pretty jazzed about Atmos music, not because of the way it was marketed to headphones which we all know is ridiculous but for us home theater guys with good setups. I am an Amazon music guy but saw Apple music has Atmos music already for the app on streaming services like Fire TV devices...

Would this center be an upgrade?

I have not a clue, but that's what I found. 3 way vs 2 way? Doesn't a 2 way cancel out sound waves. Whatever it is I don't know why. It was awful, dialog just got lost at times. Not all the time but sometimes.

Would this center be an upgrade?

Ok wow, Audyssey set the new center channel at -5. I guess it's that efficient. And at -5, it's still sounds intelligible, easy to hear dialog.
