    Jamo R 909 ?

The 909 is a fine speaker, personally I would take it over any B&W and most monopole speakers. It is obviously quite different in its presentation due to its open baffle nature. Personal preferences and rooms will be a big factor here. Its certainly worth auditioning if you have the...

    small footprint subs ~$1k

dkordonowy, let us know how it goes. i'm also looking at the ML dynamo/grotto or velodyne spl-800 or rel stampede. i'm wondering if 2x dynamo would be better than 1x grotto.(music is my interest). please report back cheers b.

Velodyne HGSX+Behringer BFD == Velodyne DD?

the bfd is more flexible and i would therefore say inherently better than the sms-1, provided you are willing to download the requisite software yourself and learn to use the bfd properly. cheers b

ML Grotto OR 2x Dynamo - help please!

thanks guys. the two dynamos will be 1200, the grotto 1000-1200 depending where you read. that ML site has been down for a while so is not much help. i was also favouring the dual subs. servo is no doubt good but at less than 80db i doubt it comes very much into play. what you recon...

    dedicated CD/SACD player anyone?

i second the denon 2200. i've owned the 2200 and 2900. currently i use a rega aplollo for cd and the 2200 for 2-channel sacd and movies. i actually prefered the 2200 to the 2900 for redbook. its a bit livelier. the 2200 is actually very close to the rega on cd playback, lacking only the...

Bass Mgnt with speaker-level sub connection.

i had a look at the hsu vtf-2 manual and it seems that its high level outs are not filtered. they offer some add-on modules that might provide this but i think in australia it will be impossible to get custom spec'd units. i'm now thinking of something like this universal player-->sub...

Bass Mgnt with speaker-level sub connection.

o.k, i checked the manual. problem is, this method involves the speakers getting a full range signal. my whole quest is to use some form of bass management. by this i mean routing anything bellow 80 away from my mains inorder to cut my tubes some slack. the search continues.... cheers b

Bass Mgnt with speaker-level sub connection.

thanks for the replies everyone. just to clarify, i dont have a receiver, just a 2-channel integrated tube amplifier, which has no pre-outs. speakers go down to 40hz. i'm wanting the option of using bass management. usually i would rather run the speakers full range, but if i were to have...
