awsome!!! i was just asking the other day when Yamaha or Denon would have an affordable reciever with HDMI.... 1900 isn't realistic either... the MSRP of the 2500 was much higher and now you can get it for like 650-700 at some online stores!!!

the vcr answer is that it is unlikely... others have said that it will let you record and watch at the same time however this is only true if it has a dual tuner... mine does however my neighbors doesnt so thats something to check.
