Subwoofer cable vs other types, I'm confused

Actually, very few if any cables are truly 75 Ohm. How close they come is determined by, amongst other things, the length of the cable and the quality of the connector. The reflections of the signal along it's path alter the Ohm value. This comes into play primarily with video in the 1Ghz +...

    Anything But HDMI Please

Please note that I believe that unless you have a DLP or LCoS display the signal converts to analogue anyway so there's no real advantage. Correct me if I'm wrong on this point. And the connector is the WORST design I've ever seen. One of the pins is recessed a good deal so any movement can...

Help me connect: Watch cable tv & listen to music @ the same time..

Wouldn't you lose 5.1 channel Cable HD audio this way? I ran SPDIF from the box straight to the AVR. I also use a Harmony 880 to do all the switching so I could have the music\TV (muted) set up as an activity.......

Any Suggestions For Ipod Integration to HT System?

Agreed. It's the main reason I've stayed away from pods. I recently picked up a Meizu player that handles lossless FLAC files. I plug that puppy right into my system and it sounds great! I've dumped too much money into this hobby to compromise....

Any Suggestions For Ipod Integration to HT System?

At the risk of getting beat up, here's my suggestion: Don't do it! Unless you have Wav files on that pod you'll be listening to a relatively small portion of the frequencies that were available on the original source. On any decent system the sound will be quite poor. But, to each their...

    Digital Optical versus RCA

Actually, any decent coax cable will be constructed to 75 Ohms. Note I said "cable". The connector is almost never 75 ohms thoughout it's length. That being said, the reflectivity of the discontinuity in impedance is so small that it'll never make a differance in a short run. I've also found...
